For the photo series ‘Landscapes,‘ multidisciplinary
artist Levi van Veluw created self-portraits by composing rural scenes on
his head and torso, and then photographing them himself. Grass, trees, grazing
animals, and rows of plowed fields rest on top of the artist’s body. The four
shots that compose the series appear to correspond to the four seasons of the
year. The Netherlands
based artist writes on his website, “… a fresh twist is given to the
obsession inherent in the romantic landscape of recreating the world and
simultaneously being part of it.”
