Our design for the new
Great Fen Visitor Centre explored how Architecture can conspire with Nature to
create a serene and confident juxtaposition between modernity and the rich and
complex history of the fen landscape.
BEN GURION UNIVERSITY SENATE BUILDING BY CHYUTIN ARCHITECTS
Ben-Gurion University of the Negev

CROWN RESORTS HAS CHOSEN WILKINSON EYRE
The joint judging panel
unanimously recommended the Wilkinson Eyre design to Crown, following an
extended competition to design the Crown Sydney Hotel Resort at Barangaroo South
on the city’s harbourfront. The winning design, unanimously selected by a
judging panel assembled by Crown Resorts, takes its inspiration from three
twisting petals and will cost up to $1.5 billion to bring to life.
CONSTRUCTION BEGINS OF BRYGHUSPROJEKTET BY OMA
Construction begins today
on the OMA-designed Bryghusprojektet in Copenhagen,
Denmark. The
27,000m² mixed-use project will accommodate a new headquarters for the Danish
Architecture Centre (DAC).
KING ABDULLAH FINANCIAL DISTRICT METRO STATION BY ZAHA HADID
The King Abdullah Financial
District (KAFD) Metro Station will serve as a key interchange on the new Riyadh
Metro network for Line 1, as well as the terminus of Line 4 (for passengers to
the airport) and Line 6. The local monorail can also be accessed from the
station via a skybridge.
DHUB DESIGN MUSEUM BARCELONA BY MBM ARQUITECTES
The Design Museum, or
Design Hub as it is now called, is situated on a sloping site, with a drop of
about seven meters, on the coastal side of Barcelona’s Plaça de les Glòries,
beside Jean Nouvelle’s Agbar tower, and very close to the elevated round-about
of a busy motorway.
COLLIDER ACTIVITY CENTER BY MARS ARCHITECTS & INTOARCH
The
jury was in Sofia
between March 7 and March 10 and had a great challenge to judge all projects. The
first day was a review of all submitted projects where the jury voted whether
the project should continue into the next stage or not. Each member had the
chance to nominate additional projects even if they did not collect enough
votes and in that way bring them back to the table of discussions.

Miami Beach is is one of the youngest
cities in America
– and perhaps right now one of the most vibrant and dynamic. Its streetscape is
characterized by a lively walkable urban fabric with a friendly human scaled
environment under the cool shade of tropical trees and art deco canopies -
except at the convention center. It is a dead black hole of asphalt in the
heart of one the most beautiful and lively cities in America.
PRISHTINA CENTRAL MOSQUE ENTRY BY OODA + AND-RÉ
Since we announced that the international
architecture competition to design the Central Mosque of Prishtina, Kosovo had
not (yet) turned out a clear winner, we have received many, many mosque design
entries, some of which we have published here on Bustler.Another entry well
worth featuring is this design collaboration between Portuguese firms OODA and
AND-RÉ with AFA CONSULT / Rui Furtado as the engineering partner
BIBLIOTECA SANT JOSEP BY RAMÓN ESTEVE
The library is a detached
building within green surroundings splashed with trees that penetrate into the
openings of the building.
